After being able to establish a far more defined focus for this next part of my inquiry, I am able to further provide a more detailed insight into the ethics of one of the largest broadcasting company. Upon entrance to this establishment during my week of work experience, I had to complete a short presentation and assessment relevant to health and safety and working regulations at Sky before the week could commence. Now working with the company on a regular basis I can really put their teachings and their way to work into practice. I have posted a link detailing their policies below:
Hi Simone, you have such an exciting job :)
ReplyDeleteCould I add you to my small group of specialists to interview? You are desirable for this as you are a dancer, teacher and now working in media/TV. My topic is similar to yours. I will be asking questions to discuss your views and opinions on using technology and media within dance training. Ideally this should be done face to face (I know we live far apart and are both very busy so perhaps after the campus session, or web cam/skype etc, if you could find the time? The interview will take around 30 minutes and I can do the same for you?

Hi Simone,
ReplyDeleteIt is great to hear that you are beginning to make the transition into media, just as you had hoped a year ago!
I would love to hear more about your job role and whether or not this course has altered your approach and perhaps given you the confidence to research and apply for the job?
Gemma - That's brilliant that you two now have a direct connection for your inquiry. A natural collaboration based on a special interest!? ;-)
Best Wishes,
Jo
Sounds like you are learning a lot from the job - Great that is the point of work based learning. The BAPP course should help to look more deeply at what you are already doing, not be something that takes up time you what to spend on work!!! Well done integrating everything. Don't forget to keep lots of reflective notes so you can look back at what you did and thought.

Hi Gemma,
ReplyDeleteThankyou, it is great fun though still very much in the starting blocks, all a good stepping stone I guess. Yes of course, which ever situation is easier for you, will you be attending the next campus session?
Hi Jo.
Thankyou, if I'm honest it all happened by chance and fairly fast, I really am starting to truly see the advantages of networking. i am just helping out in a runners role on a live show every saturday at Sky, so I am just hoping this can now progress! I would definitely say in this circumstance I was able to apply my learnings from the course. How is everything going with your inquiry? Are you finding its helping you to establish your business? Will you be attending the next session?
Hi Adesola,
Yes I really am, I feel like I have found a focus, and a greater technique in applying all the teachings from this course. I have kept a reflective journal throughout, would you advise me referencing this in my written inquiry?
Simone,
ReplyDeleteThat's fantastic. Well done. You rightly stated during the last module that networking is the way forward within media, using the information you gained from your pilot interviews. I think that so often as performers we are blinkered and focus on our destination, that we miss opportunities along the way. Instead, you have as Adesola points out, integrated the course and your work really well.
I'm O.K. My chosen inquiry is really interesting (for me) as it is taking me on a very different journey to the one I started on at the beginning of module one. This course has offered me so much more than what I had anticipated! I am enjoying the process and allowing myself to go with the flow, ensuring that I take stock every now and again to ensure that I'm on the right track. We are all investigating such varied topics now, but we remain rooted in the process of BAPP which is fundamental to our connection via the blogs. I am happy to chat with you any time to bounce ideas if you like?
Best Wishes,
Jo
