Progress? Progressed? Progression...

While re-reading all that I have managed to fit into my written inquiry as part of my first draft so far, I was able to enjoy an element of accomplishment, feeling proud and astounded at what I have achieved from start to end (well nearly) of this course.
From the start of this course I was unsure of what direction I was heading, I new where I had come from and I new what I was interested in but lacked confidence and knowledge for the journey itself. Learning all we did in module 1 provided me with a base knowledge, allowing me to establish a more tactful and realistic route into the television world I am beginning to enter now. Module 2 saw me through actually planning to find out more, techniques to learn and discover from others and ultimately catapulting me into the position I am in now. At this stage the knowledge I had gained in module 1 combined with the focus module 2 provided allowed me to take control of the inquiry itself, not only producing valuable answers but helping me within my own transition in career. This kind of progress is ongoing, but it has been a really positive aspect to reflect on. I can imagine we are all the same, becoming wrapped up in writing, the task, the deadline that we forgot about the steps forward we have taken on a personal scale. This reflective moment has helped me take a deep breath and re-enter what is left to be refined and completed. This view on progression has also allowed me to begin piecing together my artefact, viewing it more as an element of progress as opposed to a separate objective within the inquiry. I am trying to remember that as educational as it is, it is also a personal growth all interlinked for a number of purposes...

  1. Simone, This is great post. I posted today that I want to revisit all my blog posts from the beginning to (almost) the end as a process of reflection, to appreciate how far I have come through this BAPP course. Your post shows a great process of reflection within your professional practice. This course is so much more than an education. It has taught us to acknowledge our skills and experience and to seek further knowledge and experience through various sources of reference. This is most definitely a process that many of us will repeat within our professional practice in times to come. I am pleased to hear that you reached the end of the draft phase and that you felt a certain amount of accomplishment. You should most definitely be proud of yourself. Your journey has been an example of how theory can impact on professional practice and much much more. I look forward to catching up with you again soon.
    Best Wishes,
    Jo

    1. Hi Jo,

Thankyou very much for your comment. It is great to hear that you are very much on the same page as me and appreciating the journey of your inquiry. Not long until the hand-in, how is yours coming along?

  2. Hi Simone,
This lovely post has shown me that no matter how much I judge myself and what I have written I should be proud as well for finishing the first draft. Its been so enlightening for me this process and I found it so interesting that at times I resisted it for so long. I resisted the acknowledgement that I had limiting feelings about some aspects of my career and through the course I have delved into them and actively sought to change these matters.Through articulating my inquiry questions I have reached a new understanding of the obstacles that were in my way. Well done on getting your draft in and as always all the very best for the last few hurdles.
    Best Wishes,
    Pauline

  3. Hi Simone,

Yes we certainly have all made a lot of progress during the course. I am confident the inquiry will benefit all of our professional practise. What will everyone do with their time after the 20th May?

    1. Hi Gemma,

This is lovely to hear, have you completed yours now? I know, I will feel slightly lost without the course, but will almost feel a new sense of guidance with all these theories and techniques!
