Fake Empire...?!

While in the completion process of our module reflection, a friend of mine directed me to this music video entitled 'Fake Empire' by Ryan Lewis. I felt it very apt in reflection of what we have just learnt as part of module 1, and depicted the message in a very creative and musical way. He shows how the all consuming Web 2.0 platforms can engulf us, leaving us to forget about 'real life'. I found it an easy form of reflective motivation.

  2. Simone - How true this is! We are losing the ability to communicate through anything other than technology. It's quite embarrassing to think how many clips I could relate to, showing the action of getting my blackberry out of my pocket whilst in the company of another person whom I have met for a coffee - as if something better could be happening elsewhere! (which I am never thinking, but it has become such a terrible habit!)
This video has also given me inspiration for a drama project involving teenagers - they can relate to the use and availability of technology so much better than me & I can share my experience of only having a TV & video recorder when I was a child! Shocking! Thanks Simone, what a useful Blog! :-)
    Best Wishes,
    Jo

  3. Gosh, it makes me never want to pick up my iphone again. It's a great post and really shines a true light on what web 2.0 has done to our relationships. Thanks Simone...
